iBook Media Center

Well, it’s more of a music center. I took my old ibook G3, put all my music on it, and hooked it up to my TV and stereo. I use an M-Audio Sonica which connects to the iBook via USB and gives me an optical TosLink out which I connect to my surround sound receiver.

I use JewelCase 1.6 to see big what’s playing, and also iTunesSaver which is a screensaver module that does a similar thing. I really lack album art, that’s what’s becoming obvious. It’s worth pointing out here that when you paste a album cover into one song it only takes for that one song, not for the whole album – silly no? I mean, it’s album art not song art. You think iTunes would be smarter. I emailed Apple about this, we’ll see if they listen to me. :-)

Mac vulnerability FUD

So, some obscure security patch is released for MacOS X and some columnist at PC magazine goes a bit nuts, gleeful that Macs are in fact just as bad as PCs. Ha!

Fortunately, The Register has kindly debunked this notion, with a aptly titled article Windows-style security hell stalks Mac OS X? Yeah, you wish…

I’m a bit slow to post about all this since the articles date in late .. 2003! Good grief! Ok, well this is seriously dating this blog, but oh well. It’s still a good article.
